POETRY
Point Of View
The roof timber creaks as it cools
Night masks paint living on the edge.
Imagines Renoir or Monet’s crackling patina
Revered and viewed as timeless; restoration a given.
Floorboards echo a flash and snap
Sepia framed photos and weathered skin.
Recalls dawn and nimble fingers picking grapes
Fermented gold: continued harvest a given.
Vines climb to the eaves
Wind sings through latticed gaps.
The shape and form of voices float and sway
To a dark script: a hidden memoir.
Fleshed out in imagination.
